It's only been a month since my last post . . .

Good grief!! How does time keep getting away from me? I know I should update more often, but I keep thinking once I get this done, then I'll be ready to blog. But then I think of something else and something else.

Alright, I will try to update at least once a week from now on. There's just too much going on with Callie if I don't that it's easy to forget to add things!

Ok, since last time, Callie has been crawling faster, but still not the traditional hands and knees crawling. She gets up there and rocks back and forth, but then it's like she says 'Forget it, my old way is working for me!' and collapses back down to her belly and crawls that way. She's been pulling up onto her knees and sometimes even to standing, so I'm not really worried that she hasn't mastered traditional crawling. She sits up on her own and can get into sitting position. All this new movement has made us realize we really need to get baby proofing!

In big, big news, Callie has a tooth! It's still at the gum line, but it's there and working it's way up. It's the bottom left front tooth if that's understandable to you . . . Granny Great found it today. I thought she was kidding but I felt it too and it's definitely there! It's a sharp little tooth!

Callie's also been expanding the foods she eats and working toward eating more table food. Our number one rule at the dinner table is, if we have food, Callie must have food too or we don't have a chance at a peaceful meal!

In family news, I had a birthday. I'm now officially 24. We didn't make a big deal which is great by me. Just a family dinner out at a nice place and spending time with my loved ones.

I'm also looking into getting lasik next year. It looks like probably around the end of May or beginning of June. It changes some of our plans, but I think that it will be really great if I can get this done. My dad had it done several years ago and he's been very happy with the results. I'm excited about the possibility of not needing glasses or contacts everywhere I go. It makes a lot of things more doable. Packing light on trips for instance!

Philip's really enjoying his job and he's also getting into a certain amount of farm work. All in all, we're having a great fall. Hope everyone else is doing well!

God Bless!
** Just to let you all know, the picture of me was from my mom trying to take pictures of Callie and I napping together. The flash woke me up and that was the look I gave her. Note to self: Heather is not good at being woken up from a sleeping state. She is not responsible for any looks or words that may come out of her mouth should she be awaken. :)

Sunday Morning

Yesterday, Callie came into my room while I was finishing up getting ready for church by putting on my jewelry. Callie: Mommy, you're very pretty. Me: Callie, that's very sweet. Thank you! Callie: You're welcome. Daddy's pretty too! Me: Oh Callie, you need to go tell him that . . . :)

Meanwhile, back at the Farm . . .

We're having some exciting happenings around the Booker Farm so I thought I'd write a little bit about what's going on with the kiddos. Callie Callie is so excited that we now have two dogs and three cats. Their names are (dogs) Belle and Ariel, (cats) Duchess, Dixie, and Thomas O'Malley -- Tom for short. She is very excited to be wrapping up another school year and looking forward to our travels this summer. She is taking on more responsibility around the house (which I love) and doing an excellent job for the most part in taking care of all the animals. I'm certainly enjoying watching her grow and blossom in so many ways, but this is especially significant to me. Philip and I are really striving to raise our children to be responsible, caring, and kind adults! I'm now teaching her on Wednesday Night Bible Class and I love observing her for the first time in a classroom setting as her teacher as well. She is a delight to have in class, if I may s...

Sometimes it's hard . . .

I feel like I've finally awoken from a long, chaotic dream. The past couple of weeks have gone so much more smoothly. The first 3 (or so) months with a new baby just throws my world upside down and inside out. While I'm in it, I find it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel --  that time when we all adapt to each other and find our new routine. I'm not saying I don't love it, because I do. I just don't love all of it! So I'll do a quick little catch up, write Nolan's birth story in another post and we'll be back on track. For a little bit at least. I think I've said before that I love writing. I mean love it. But for some reason, I've never been good at keeping a journal. I really want to. There are so many moments I want to make sure I write down and remember and I want to be good at keeping track of everything. But over and over again I prove it's just not something that I'm consistent with. It irritates me to the point th...
