To Pacify or Not to Pacify?

This is day 2 of going "cold turkey" without the paci. Day 1 -- not so great. Clingy, refusing to nap, grumpy . . . and that was just me! :) No, not really. I did call Philip as he was coming home last night to tell him I was punching out once he got in because of the day we had. Fortunately, we had a pretty good night's sleep last night. Callie had a little trouble falling asleep and was crying for awhile between 8:30-9:00, but she eventually calmed down on her own. She slept until almost 6:00 this morning, so we did pretty good considering it was our first night without that faithful pacifier. In other news, we're fast approaching February 5th, which is the date of my ultrasound! I'm very excited. I'm like a kid going to Disney World! (Or me going to Disney World . . . ) We're planning a family date night after the ultrasound, maybe even taking Callie to her first movie, though we haven't completely decided on that as of yet. This week has been pre...

23 Months Old!

Callie is 23 months old today! I have a little over a month to plan her 2 nd birthday party, which seems absolutely crazy. I can't possibly have a daughter who's almost 2! Our party plans for this year are a "Noah's Ark" theme. Callie loves animals so much, so we're planning the party around all her favorite animal friends, in twos! (Kinda perfect, right?) Things are going on as normal around here. Callie plays all morning until lunch, then takes a nap after lunch, then plays the rest of the day until dinner. It gets busy after dinner with bath, warm milk before bed, story time and song time, then to bed by 8:00. That's our typical schedule except for 1-2 days a week we go to Peoria or Bloomington to get groceries or sometimes just to get out of the house! Callie loves to play pretend with her dishes and cups. She's always mixing up something for us to try. She also loves to play with her building blocks, usually adding them to the dishes she's m...

Maybe next year! As you can see, Callie had a big Christmas this year! Fortunately, some of the toys are going with Mimi and Bampa to their house once it's finally finished. (Someday!) In other news, Philip finally felt GabeKenzie kick last night! I've been feeling little flutters for awhile and stronger kicks for the past two weeks. I'm excited for my next doctor's appointment to hear the little heartbeat again. This kid's got a heart muscle; GabeKenzie's heartbeat has been between 150-170 beats per minute every time we've heard it. Uncle E...

The Triumphant Return from an Internet-Less Existence!

Callie all dressed up for the cold Callie deciding on her pumpkin for fall Callie loves her pasta! Callie and Daddy ride the rides at the Pumpkin Festival in Morton, IL! Cute little pumpkin for Halloween! (Noticing a trend?!?) -- Some pictures from the past few months so you can see how Callie has grown! Christmas and more winter pictures to come in the next post! -- Well, we're back in the farmhouse with my parents. We moved back in with them December 23rd. Yep, it was a busy Christmas which is why my Christmas cards were late, my presents weren't all finished and wrapped in time, and I'm still searching for and eventually finding things I meant to do last year. You're probably thinking, Why is this her first post, nearly a month after she moved into the house with internet ? I'll answer that question. Our internet service at the farm had been provided by DTN Speed Net for many years now. The problem is, they have not been maintaining their connection properly o...
