Planning Mode Initiated

Well, we are in full force party planning mode here at the Booker's house. When I am able to be up and about, I'm doing extra organizing and cleaning and when I'm down for the count, I'm researching, designing and making lists. I can't believe in less than a week my "baby" girl is turning 6 years old. It seems so surreal! I know I say it every birthday, every year, but wow! It's true what they say about the days being slow but the years being fast. I'm hoping to do Callie's 6 year photos tomorrow since she has a day off school. It's hard to catch the right lighting working around school hours. (Right now, especially, being winter!) So that will be fun to add to the blog soon. Nolan is taking an independent step here and there, but is still showing very little to no interest in walking by himself. It doesn't help that he can easily get big brother or sister to push him around the house on his tricycle! He seems to be making more so...

When the times get tough, the tough get going

I had a rough morning this morning. Philip had to go to work early which means I had to get all the kids ready by myself. Of course, it takes me longer, so I always feel like I'm a little behind. I have been having trouble cooking lately, can't hardly stand the smell of anything cooking for too long at all, so I bought some convenience foods in the freezer section (which I hardly ever do) to have on hand. I went to warm them up in the microwave and it wouldn't go. It kept stopping, not blowing the circuit or anything, just stopping after 3-4 seconds. Then, the kids wouldn't eat them. I don't know, they were bagels filled with cream cheese and strawberries, seems like things the kids would like . . . So I'm fighting them about eating something for breakfast. Then, Nolan keeps throwing everything I give him on the floor. Oy! I can feel my temperature rising. I put him down on the floor and he proceeds to scream like someone is pinching him for the remainder ...

Gabe says . . .

So Gabriel comes into the bathroom this morning while I was in the shower and says, "I can't put this shirt on, it's upside-up." "What is it?" I reply from my steam-filled cavern. "The arms are upside-up and I can't put it on." I pulled aside the curtain to see what he was talking about. The sleeves were INSIDE OUT. Got it! "Don't worry about it right now buddy, I'll fix it when I get done. Remember to close the door so mommy can have her privacy!" Sometimes, it's the little things that make you smile, even though you're having a crazy hectic morning. Just a little spirit lifting for my day!
