You Can't Have Me

I spent last night in an exhausted daze. There is no way that this could be possible. Our lesson at church was about Jacob wrestling with God. There was a quote from a radio preacher of yesteryear where he said something to the effect that, "God crippled Jacob to get him to pay attention." Well, God, here I am and I'm paying attention. This all started when I decided to schedule a appointment with my dermatologist because of a freckle that was starting to worry me. I mean, I'm the first to admit that I don't always put on sunscreen so I thought, better safe than sorry, right? I've also been having some trouble with my hands not healing, even now that I'm able to start using my medicine since Gabriel stopped nursing. And my toenails are not doing so well either (I know, gross, but it's what's going on). So, needless to say, I have several reasons to go see this doctor. I go in thinking he's going to recommend that I get the freckle biopsied and...

A Couple Videos and A Story

Yesterday, the Junk Food fairy visited my house before I awoke and left a box of doughnuts for the family. Callie, of course, couldn't wait to get her hands on one, and how could I resist Krispy Kreme Doughnuts?!? I went about setting the box aside and getting Gabriel's breakfast ready: formula, cheerios, and yogurt. After I had finished my treat, I asked Gabriel if he would like some oatmeal too. He pointed over to where I had placed the doughnut box and made his little hissing noise. I said "Oh Gabriel, not too much longer and you can have a piece of doughnut, but not today." He made the "more" sign and then the "please" sign (or rather, his little version of them) and then pointed back over to the box! I stuck to my original verdict, though it was hard after he was so cute! I substituted his favorite treat, a Clementine instead and he didn't seem to mind so much. :)

Spring, Easter, and Room Remodel

Callie on the hunt for Easter eggs! Found one! There's even one hidden in Paw Paw's pocket! Gabriel even got in on the act, putting his eggs in his Easter basket. I hate the order these post in! I thought this was one of the funniest outtakes from our homemade Easter photos. Callie's trying desperately to sit still like we asked her, but still wants to see what that rascally rabbit Gabriel is doing! :) After the Easter egg hunt, hanging out with Paw Paw! Callie's room, almost finished! Just waiting on some more furniture that's taking forever! Other end of Callie's room. The dresser we made over. This was my Granny's and Paw-Paw's dresser, then my parents and now it's Callie's! Callie's room sign. She picked out the decorations and I made it for her. Again, the order of these is all off. But this is Gabriel cheesin ' for the camera! Such a sweetie! Happy Spring everyone! :) Well, Easter was a little late this year at the Booker House. The...
