Why Stop Now?

I've been updating the blog every five days, so why stop now? There's actually been a number of happenings in the Booker household that everyone needs to know! :) Ok, so let's start with Thursday, January 13th. Gabriel starts inch worming his way around the house. Fast forward to exactly one week later (Thursday, January 20th)- Gabriel pulls himself up to a standing position while in the laundry basket. What does this Thursday have in store?? Who knows, but I'm sure hoping it's not cruising the furniture because there's only so much I can do to keep him from growing up too fast! Gabriel's latest tricks are clapping when asked to clap (most of the time - he's not a performing monkey), waving hello/goodbye to people, and bestowing wet slobbery kisses on me (just me so far) when I ask for one. Callie has been using the potty consistently since Friday, January 21st. Yes, we finally had a breakthrough. I have not changed a Callie diaper in nearly five days (t...

I Fail to See the Fascination . . .

. . . in pulling your socks off, but it's Gabe's newest game. Also in Gabriel's recent accomplishments, inch worming his way around the house (yes, he's mobile!), pulling himself around places while sitting up (he can go pretty far), and clapping. If you can't tell by now, he is a genius! (Non-partial opinion of course!) He is enjoying his food still, getting more into finger foods, and pretty much still eating or sleeping all day long - more eating than sleeping. We've been fighting some congestion since early December, and it's made for much shorter naps, occasionally leading to a rather grumpy Gabriel by afternoon/evening. My latest trick to get things done around the house is putting Gabriel in a laundry basket with a few toys and sliding him from room to room as I make beds, put clothes away, and tidy up. He likes the ride. :) Callie (is also a genius!) can identify most uppercase letters in the alphabet, even out of order. She still loves her animals,...

Shopping Trip

We went shopping yesterday in the 'burbs. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get everything checked off my list that I was looking for, but fortunately, I still have some time to look for the items that I need to get. Most of the items that I need are actually for a photo session in March. We're getting 4 generation photos taken with my granny, my mom, me, and Callie. Then, we're also getting 3 year pictures taken of Callie (how is that possible?!?!?) and 9 month pictures of Gabriel (I can't believe it's time!). Our family has a tradition for 3 year pictures, a cream sweater with a creamy background. But I don't know, so far, I haven't had any luck finding a plain sweater, even online. I was also trying to find a nice outfit for me (no luck) and a nice outfit for Gabriel (nadda . . . ) It seems like every time I go to find an outfit for Gabriel, whatever size he's in just doesn't exist. When he was in 3-6 month for example, I wanted to get...

Sunday Morning

Yesterday, Callie came into my room while I was finishing up getting ready for church by putting on my jewelry. Callie: Mommy, you're very pretty. Me: Callie, that's very sweet. Thank you! Callie: You're welcome. Daddy's pretty too! Me: Oh Callie, you need to go tell him that . . . :)

Pictures from the Holidays

Gabriel's now standing up on his own . . . Ok, not really, but he can hang on like nobody's business and loves to stand up "by himself"! Gabriel's waking up face :) Callie painting with ice. She really likes her arts and crafts! Uncle Kevin and Callie playing in the snow. We have had a crazy amount of snow for this early in the winter. I was telling everyone that I can remember sledding once in my childhood. The next year, we received sleds as a Christmas surprise and never got to use them! Gabriel's Sunday outfit. He's playing with a couple of his new toys from Christmas the day before. Gramma and Callie and Camden baking cookies for the celebrations! Callie, Camden, and Gabriel playing together Camden and Gabriel in their matching Christmas pjs :) (I really wish they would post my pictures in the order I upload them, but oh well . . . ) Enjoy! :) Hope your holidays were magical!

Ahh the holidays!

So the holidays are officially over, and it's back to the same old, same old in the Booker house. Well, almost . . . minus the abundance of sweets (not good for my resolution!) and the still stuffed full refrigerator, it's back to the same old, same old in the Booker house. :) We had a wonderful holiday celebration with all our loved ones. The children were showered with gifts from relatives near and far. We had a good meal on Christmas at our house. I didn't do much at all! I got the ham ready (which I think I did better this time!) and the salad. The rest of it was made by my wonderful crew (aka Mom and Granny) working behind the scenes. We had fun with our present game, and the kids loved opening present after present. It was a great day. Since then, we've been entertaining our guests, eating too much, and enjoying some days at home without Philip having to run off to work right after breakfast. It all ended much too soon - except for the eating too much part - and t...
