The Latest from the Farm

Well, the weather has been beautiful the past couple of days and I'm absolutely exhausted from trying to take part in it! Callie and I went and played outside yesterday after we got back from a nearly all day trip to Peoria. We found the kittens that had been born a few weeks ago and Callie was very gentle petting the one that I managed to catch. (They're not very used to us.) She kept going over and looking at them and saying "Kitt-ens." :)

Speaking of things she's saying, what isn't she saying? It's amazing to me how much she says and communicates! I have to be very careful what I say around her anymore, because it could very possibly be repeated! Every time she comes back from bible class, she shouts over everyone else visiting "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" It's so sweet, even though I'd really like her to use her indoor voice, I can't help but smile that she wants to show me her papers so badly she can't hardly wait to get into the auditorium. Callie's getting ready to move up to a toddler bed. I think she'll make the transition well because she doesn't like napping in her crib because she can't get out when she wakes up, so she's already sleeping on a "bed" in the living room during naps. I just hope we don't have any early morning visits to our room once she figures out she can get up on her own. On the other hand, I think mornings will be more pleasant since she won't have to cry to get our attention.

The house is coming together slowly. I hope to have the living room and kitchen looking more like the final set-up by the end of this weekend because I'm hosting a shower here next weekend! Hopefully, it goes over well for the sake of all involved! :) Even our internet is behaving well, which I was beginning to think would never happen! We haven't had any problems since Tuesday when the service tech came over and said he'd replaced our ports and line. (And if you fully understand that, good for you because I sure don't!)

I'm excited to get started on our projects for the house once things settle down. Completing the nursery is the first thing on our list. After that, we're debating between the media room or our bedroom or Callie's bedroom. I'm also excited to get working on my sewing projects that I need to get done. My sewing area is almost set up; I hope that after this weekend it will be cleared off and ready to go!

Yesterday, I had my glucose testing for my pregnancy. Hopefully, everything checks out and I won't have to do a three hour test. (Never heard of it before a woman in the waiting room yesterday said I was lucky it was only an hour and then the woman in the office said that I could have to have a three hour test if I fail this one.) Not feeling diabetic, so I think I'm ok! :) Gabriel was not happy with me eating two pieces of toast in the morning instead of my normal breakfast yesterday and he let me know it all day long. I was SO hungry! Philip was laughing at me because I was still eating after he went upstairs to put Callie to bed -- a full 2 hours after dinner! Gabe was much more pleasant this morning, jumping for joy that I had my frosted mini wheats and fruit. Something about starting out my day deficient of calories makes me feel like I'm an eating monster the rest of the day! Of course, part of that could just be where I'm at in my pregnancy! ha!

Well, I think that's about all that's going on in the Booker house lately! We're all doing great and things are busy, busy!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. God bless you and yours!
