I feel like I've finally awoken from a long, chaotic dream. The past couple of weeks have gone so much more smoothly. The first 3 (or so) months with a new baby just throws my world upside down and inside out. While I'm in it, I find it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel -- that time when we all adapt to each other and find our new routine.
I'm not saying I don't love it, because I do. I just don't love all of it!
So I'll do a quick little catch up, write Nolan's birth story in another post and we'll be back on track. For a little bit at least. I think I've said before that I love writing. I mean love it. But for some reason, I've never been good at keeping a journal. I really want to. There are so many moments I want to make sure I write down and remember and I want to be good at keeping track of everything. But over and over again I prove it's just not something that I'm consistent with. It irritates me to the point that I don't want to even think about trying. It's weird, isn't it? I want to be so good at something that when I mess up, I just stop trying! I don't like that part of my personality. It's a personal improvement I'd really like to make. And soon! Because there's so much I want to remember.
Anyway, enough about me and my personal short comings. Let's catch up.
Well, let's see. It's been about six months. We had a wonderful holiday season. I was in labor for about 3 weeks. This was the first pregnancy/labor that I actually recognized contractions. I had them every day and they would wake me up in the night for almost a month. They ended up inducing me on January 3rd after I was in labor all day on the 31st with no further progress. Our big surprise, our second boy, Nolan was born! Callie turned five. She had an "awesome" cowgirl birthday party. Philip had his last 20-something birthday. He's older than me once again! :-) He also found out he had a ton of vacation time that had rolled over (he didn't realize) with some days about to expire so he's taken at least a three-day weekend every weekend during May. Gabe is about to turn 3. We're planning his train birthday party for next Saturday.
So that's the short version. :-)
I'll expand on Nolan and the birthday parties in a post hopefully not too long from now!
God Bless you and yours!
